On March 6, Food Services organized the annual Mac ‘n’ Cheese Smackdown with Hart House. This year’s event was even more special thanks to the new venue – the Great Hall, exciting new Teams from University College and Hart House, and increased participation.
We are incredibly grateful for the support of the U of T community. This year, we welcomed 20% more guests than last year and raised 40% more funds for U of T’s United Way Campaign, thanks to your generous donations. Together, we raised $4,535 from ticket sales and donations. Thank you all so much for being a part of this event – we couldn’t have done it without you!
We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Team New College, led by Chef Jonathan, for winning this year’s Mac ‘n’ Cheese Smackdown competition! Their Better Butter Curry Mac & Cheese was absolutely delicious, and we’re thrilled to announce that it will be available at our pop-up station, Foodie Finds, located at Robarts Food Court until the end of April.

This is a cashless event and tickets can ONLY be purchased through the U of T Mobile Order app. Detailed instructions on how to get the app can be found below. Your ticket includes samples from all four teams.
Tickets are NOT available at the location and have to be purchased in advance. Since the tickets are limited and we always SELL-OUT, it’s a good idea to buy your tickets soon.
For just $8, you get to enjoy four portions of carefully crafted Mac ‘n’ Cheese, made by our campus chefs.
AND that’s not all! You also get to contribute towards a good cause, 100% of your $8 ticket price goes directly to the University of Toronto United Way Campaign!
Well, we thought about that (since we know how generous our U of T community is!) and have provided an ADD ON option in the app to donate additional funds to the United Way. You can add $2, $5 or $10 to your ticket cost to TOP UP your donation amount!
