All Food Services Residence Dining Commons, including Chestnut, New College, CampusOne, and Oak House, provide All-You-Care-to-Eat (AYCTE) dining. This model allows diners to eat what they want and the quantity they wish to eat during each visit.
No Meal Plan? No Problem. The Dining Commons are open to serve all members of the U of T community. Simply pay the door-rate, or use your Suite Resident & Commuter Meal Plan to enjoy all the benefits of AYCTE dining.
The AYCTE dining model gives students the freedom to choose their portion sizes, the flexibility to select their meals, and the ability to customize the daily menu to match their dietary preferences and allergies.
Who has access to
AYCTE Dining?

While Residence Access Meal Plans are mandatory for most residence students, AYCTE dining is open to everyone in the U of T community, including all students, staff, and faculty.
You can access the Dining Commons with a valid Residence Meal Plan, a Suite Resident & Commuter Meal Plan, or by paying the door-rate using Dining Dollars, Campus Flex Dollars, TBucks, or debit/credit.

Learn More about food services

AYCTE dining is an enhanced dining program that allows all students, staff, and faculty to enjoy the food they want and the quantity they wish at each of our Residence Dining Commons. Choose from a variety of hot, cold, and self-serve stations that offer a rotating menu of chef-created dishes.
Due to Health and Safety concerns, personal water bottles, mugs, cups, dishware, and cutlery are not allowed to be used in the Dining Commons. Everything you need to enjoy your meal will be available in the dining area.
Dining Commons are eat-in only with a limited take-out allowance. The limited take-out option is available for students living in Residence to take a meal to go from a Residence Dining Commons using an Eco to Go Container (one Eco to Go exchange card is provided with your welcome package at check-in).
Our Dining Commons are open to everyone on campus. Simply pay the door-rate using Dining Dollars, Flex Dollars, TBucks, or debit/credit.
AYCTE dining is available at all 4 of our Residence Dining Commons: Chestnut, New College, CampusOne, and Oak House.
Residence Dining Commons are open daily. Please visit individual Dining Commons pages for a full list of station hours:
The menus (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) for each Dining Commons can be found here.
Over the years we have accommodated many students with specific dietary needs who live in residence and dine with us multiple times a day. If you wish to meet to discuss allergens, intolerances, or dietary restrictions due to medical conditions, we ask that you fill out and submit the Allergen/Dietary Form.
Students are encouraged to connect with a member of the culinary team at their Dining Commons. The culinary team can help navigate the Dining Commons, to discuss accommodation options for complex allergies or dietary restrictions. Students who indicate that they require dietary accommodations will have their provided information reviewed and will be contacted by our team if necessary.
Students with anaphylactic allergies are always asked to have their auto-injector on them in case of emergency.
Since we offer an All-You-Care-to-Eat dining experience, diners have the opportunity to enjoy any quantity they like during each visit.
Chef stations will serve single portions to help reduce food waste and allow diners to sample a wider variety of options during each meal. Everyone is invited to enjoy larger portions or return for seconds if they would like.
