As part of the Biggest Back to School Ever series of events, the University of Toronto Food Services team proudly presented our annual Mac ’n’ Cheese Smackdown.
Cheesy goodness was up for the judgement and scrutiny of the most discerning palettes and tastebuds across the University. Tickets were only $5 and all proceeds from ticket sales went to the United Way of Greater Toronto.
Four teams competed, but one was victorious – Team Chestnut!

General Tso’s Chicken Mac ‘n’ Cheese
Served with green onion oil and toasted sesame seed.

Supreme Mac & Cheese
Classic Mac & Cheese topped with a Marinara Sauce, Italian Cured Meats and Crispy Onion.
Representing for Team New College, Chef Jonathan & Chef Amy.
What they made:
MacBroc Ultra
Creamy Mac & Cheese with Broccoli, Crispy Shallots and Bacon.
Representing for Team Retail, Chef Kusha, Chef Andrew, Chef Trish & Chef Justin.
What they made:
The Ontario Smoked Bacon
Creamy Mac & cheese, topped with Ontario bacon bits, golden onion ring and a chipotle cheese drizzle.
